ART RESOURCES
The caliber of artwork you can find and use for free from certain major museums. This image of The Annunciation was made available by The Getty. |
More and more communication is visual. If you aren't a photographer or artist, where can you find suitable images that you can use freely and without copyright worries? Several major art museums have begun to offer access to their digitized holdings, free for non-commercial use. So go ahead and put that masterpiece on your blog or institutional website. In some cases, you can download a high-quality image to use on prayer cards, vocational literature or in a scholarly work for publication. (Read the fine print, which varies from site to site.)
